Dr. Starr supports the Intellectual Property group (IP) and brings his strong experience and understanding to the firm’s various departments, Dr. Starr began his career in intellectual property law with the Princeton, NJ office of Dechert LLP, and continued his career with the well-known IP law firm, Kenyon & Kenyon LLP, in Manhattan’s financial district.
Dr. Starr’s fifteen years experience in patent law includes drafting and prosecuting, world-wide, patent applications, drafting FTO opinions, and due diligence investigations, especially in the chemical, small-molecule pharmaceutical, and polymer arts. His experience further includes drafting and negotiating licensing agreements and supporting ANDA litigations.
Dr. Starr has advised domestic and foreign individual inventors, small business entities, and large generic pharmaceutical companies.
Prior to joining the patent bar, Dr. Starr enjoyed a career in research and development, as both an individual contributor and manager, in the United States, Holland, and Germany. He is proficient in the German language.
Dr. Starr is admitted in New York, New Jersey, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the VPP organization of patent professionals (Germany).
